Report: Real Madrid want Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero

Segio Aguero Argentina

The Spanish giants reportedly want to make the Argentine their next Galactico signing, following in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodriguez.

Real Madrid remain keen to make Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero the next Galactico, according to AS in Spain.

Madrid had to watch enviously as rivals Barcelona, and their now famous triplet of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar, ended the season La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League winners.

It is arguably where the club think they should be as well, and president Florentino Perez apparently wants to spend his way to accomplishing it.

He has already spent £41 milllion on the likes of Danilo, Lucas Silva and Martin Odegaard in 2015, and doesn’t want to stop there.

And while they are looking to sign David de Gea from Manchester United, according to sources such as the Mirror, his signature is not one to excite the fan base, which is where Aguero comes in. He would however, not be a cheap acquisition.

As far as AS is concerned, the bidding would start at as much as £60 million, with City likely to prove less than keen to sell their star man. The Premier League club also hold all the bargaining chips, with the Argentine’s current contract running out in 2019.

It may then, come down to the intentions of the player. He is the undisputed star at the Etihad, but the chance of a move to the Bernabeu would likely prove too much of an opportunity to pass up on.
