The La Liga giants are reportedly keen on making the Argentine their next 'Galactico' signing as they look to fight back against Barcelona in both Spain and Europe.
However, Aguero could cost them as much as £60 million, and with them already having spent £41 million on stars such as Danilo, Lucas Silva and Casemiro, as well as the potential signing of David de Gea (per the Express), the books would need to be balanced.
That would mean them selling off players that would be surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu, with both Karim Benzema and full-back Fabio Coentrao considered to be towards the top of that list.
And that news will come as a boost to several Premier League clubs, as both players have garnered interest from England before now.
Signing the French star wouldn’t come easy though, as a number of big clubs in Europe would almost certainly be interested in his signature. In the case of Coentrao, the situation would not be expected to be as competitive.
Again, Manchester United have been linked with him continuously in the past, and indeed were close to a deal back in 2013 according to BBC Sport, but they now have Luke Shaw in that position. Chelsea would be a good fit, while potentially even Tottenham Hotspur may see it as too good an opportunity to pass up.
In any case, expect one, if not both, to end up in the Premier League should the potential pursuit of Aguero end in success.
