Argentine international teammates - and potential Manchester United teammates?
Nicolas Otamendi has been strongly linked with a transfer to Manchester United, with Spanish newspaper SuperDeporte reporting earlier this month the Red Devils would be making an offer for his services.
The defender has a release clause of £35.8 million written into his current contract, which United have the capability to pay given their financial strength.
Otamendi is currently on international duty with Argentina at the Copa America, and posted a photo last night with attacker, and United record signing, Angel di Maria.
In his post he described Di Maria as a 'good friend', which can only be a positive if he were to move to the Red Devils.
Di Maria would surely help Otamendi settle off the field and on it, along with fellow Argentine Marcos Rojo, but it could actually be the winger himself who benefits most.
The former Real Madrid ace's form dipped over the past three months of the season, and having a close friend join him at United could help he and his family settle in Manchester.
First the matter at hand, Argentina are bidding to win the Copa America, and have four points from their opening two games, with a 2-2 draw against Paraguay, and a 1-0 victory over Uruguay, with Manchester City's Sergio Aguero netting the winner.
