Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal explained to Arsenal Blog what he’s noticed about the mood in the dressing room at the club.
The Spaniard has explained that a positive change has been happening within the Arsenal squad, which has coincided with the club’s turnaround in form since the turn of the year.
Arsenal looked as though they would push Chelsea all the way in the race for the title last season, before they retained their FA Cup with an impressive win against Aston Villa in the final at Wembley.
“For me the most important thing was the atmosphere in the group. It was completely different from the beginning of the season and from the last season,” he said.
“In the group and in the dressing-room the atmosphere is amazing between all players. Before it was like there were different groups.”
It makes Arsene Wenger’s job as manager far easier if everyone in the squad is settled and happy with the playing environment and the atmosphere away from the pitch.
It would be much more difficult for the Gunners to move forward next season as they aim for the title, if there were small divisions all over the squad, which threatened the collective unity and team spirit of the side.
Arsenal are at their very best when they are playing well and fighting collectively as a unit, with that extra determination, which makes them all the more difficult for the opposition.
It’s vital that Wenger ensures team spirit is perfect because anything, which threatens it could prevent the Gunners getting off to a good start and building some early momentum.
