The Brazilian had an impressive 2014-15 season, after nearly joining Leeds United last year.
Yesterday saw Italian side Torino finalise a move for talented Brazilian defender Danilo Avelar. The 26-year-old has moved to Turin for an undisclosed fee, with Antonio Barrecca heading to Cagliari in the opposite direction, according to Football Italia. Avelar has signed a four-year deal with the club.
Of course that name may sound familiar to Leeds United fans.
The former Schalke 04 and Karpaty Lviv left-back was heavily linked with a move to Leeds last year.
It was reported by Tutto Mercato Web that Avelar was on the radar of Leeds last January, with the Yorkshire Evening Post following up on the same interest last April. TMW in fact reported that the deal was done.
The player was set to be loaned to the club, with a view to a permanent deal, from Leeds owner Massimo Cellino's former club.
However, the Brazilian was not overly keen on a move and Leeds never got hold of their man.
He went on to have a stellar 2014-15 season, even though Cagliari were relegated from Serie A. He played 31 games, scoring four goals, and Torino are now hopeful he will continue his progression at the club.
Leeds look to have missed out here, but most fans at Elland Road won't mind too much. They have Charlie Taylor to keep them happy in the left-back department.
