There's no place for Cristiano Ronaldo in the Frenchman’s dream team.

Francis Coquelin has excelled at The Emirates since his early return from a loan spell at Charlton Athletic last December. The Gunners faced an injury crisis in the wake of Aaron Ramsey’s hamstring problem and Coquelin stepped up and hasn’t looked back. Going on to make 30 appearances, the 24-year old plugged a gap in what has been a troublesome position for Arsenal in recent years.

His tough-tackling style adds balance to an Arsenal team full of slight, technical players and he has now established himself as a vital member of the first-team squad.

In an video posted on the club’s official Youtube channel, Coquelin has now revealed his ultimate team.

Frenchman Claude Makelele - a player the Arsenal man revealed he looks up to - features alongside Zinedine Zidane and Lilian Thuram as the French contingent. There is no place for Cristiano Ronaldo as the ‘original’ Ronaldo leads the line supported by Argentinian duo Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona.

Brazil legend Ronaldinho, still plying his trade in Mexico with Querétaro, completes the midfield. Brazilian full-backs Roberto Carlos and Cafu make up the defence alongside Carlos Puyol and current Bayern Munich stopper Manuel Neuer.
