The arrival of Netherlands winger Memphis Depay has cast further doubt over the future of Adnan Januzaj.
Last season was not one to remember for Adnan Januzaj, with the Manchester United winger struggling to adapt to Louis van Gaal's multiple systems.
The youngster had his breakthrough season in 2013/14 under the management of David Moyes but has since failed to make much of an impact, resulting in speculation referring to loan spells, as per the Daily Mirror.
Januzaj's agent Dirk de Vriese has, however, claimed that Van Gaal will reject any offers to sign the player this summer, either on loan or in a permanent deal.
Showing faith in youngsters and granting them opportunities is something the United boss is renowned for and it falls into the club's healthy tradition of bringing through talented footballers.
His agent has moved quickly, though, to rubbish talk of a possible reunion with former boss Moyes in La Liga.
“This is total nonsense," Dirk de Vriese told Sport Witness.
“Adnan is feeling good at Manchester United and they don’t want him to leave the club.
“He is considered still as their biggest talent since many years.
“There was a lot of top teams asking to buy him and a lot of sub-top teams to loan him, but he will stay at Manchester United to become a legend in the club.”
Januzaj's agent is seemingly trying to quash rumours and help his client to avoid negative attention, which is not always the case when sagas of this kind spring up.
He is still very much a young player that needs to get his head down and work to the best of his ability. Playing regularly will help, but at United that is not guaranteed.
