Warnock: What I'd do over Jack Grealish if I was Tim Sherwood

Jack Grealish

Former Premier League boss Neil Warnock has suggested a common sense approach over the Aston Villa youngster.

Former Premier League manager Neil Warnock told talkSPORT what he would do with Aston Villa youngster Jack Grealish if he was in the shoes of Tim Sherwood.

Villa quickly issued a statement when photos started to circulate with Grealish allegedly looking worse for wear after having a bit too much to drink while away on holiday.

It’s split opinion among groups of fans, with Warnock suggesting a simple approach over how Sherwood should go about the issue.

“If I was Tim, I'd just get on the phone and sort it out - He just needs to deal with it and move on,” he said.

It will be a difficult one for Sherwood to take because he’s the man who has given the midfielder a chance to perform on the platform of the Aston Villa first team.

He’s encouraged Grealish to step up and perform as a young midfielder and this is the second incident, which appears to have landed him in hot water, after the laughing gas story, which appeared in the Daily Mirror.

The best approach for Sherwood is a common sense one. He’s likely to have already attempted to speak to the player, but may just view the situation as a case of a young man getting carried away while on holiday with some friends.

The important thing is that it doesn’t affect his long term health and that he can maintain the form he’s shown in an Aston Villa shirt.
