Last season's Southampton loanee Filip Djuricic caught the eye last night at the European under-21 Championships.
Djuricic scored for Serbia in their opening 1-1 draw with group favourites Germany, nutmegging an opponent before placing a cool finish into the net. Liverpool's Emre Can netted the equaliser.
The Benfica attacker, now 23 but still eligible to play for the under-21s, drew praise from watching former defender Rio Ferdinand, who used his Twitter account to hail the former Saint.
Duricic the Serbian no.10 in the game vs Germany just scored a lovely goal...megs!! Looks a good player after 15mins!— Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) June 17, 2015
It was more than an impact than Djuricic mustered at Southampton, playing nine Premier League games without scoring a goal.

It is not thought that the Saints are actively attempting to sign him permanently, and he is under no immediate pressure to find a new club, with a contract at Benfica running until June 2018.
He was not in their plans last season though, and was out on loan at German side Mainz before a mid-season switch to Southampton.
A few more personal highlights like he produced last night at the under-21 tournament will go a long way to helping his case with whichever step he decides to take in his career next, whether it be pushing for a spot at Benfica, or looking for a permanent move away.
