Charlie Horton says he is spreading the word of Leeds United and cannot wait to get started.
New Leeds United signing Charlie Horton has told his Twitter followers that he has been spreading the word about the club in the USA.
Horton became the club's first summer signing earlier this month when he was picked up on a free transfer after his contract with Cardiff City expired.
The goalkeeper was attending a coaching session in his native state of Ohio, and said he even converted a few of the attendees into becoming Leeds supporters.
Horton added that he is excited to begin pre-season, where he will have the opportunity to compete with Marco Silvestri for the number one spot.
Fans of Leeds for many a year may sigh at what the young Americans have let themselves in for, but the global spread of the club is never a bad thing, especially as it may result in increased financial gain for the club.
Horton is a player with excellent potential who will start off as the second choice this season, but as a US under-23 international, is highly regarded.
His positive attitude is a good early sign for Leeds, especially after the controversy over players accused of not wanting to play for the club at the end of last season.
Strong competition will hopefully push Marco Silvestri on, and help ensure either way that Leeds have the strong goalkeeper they need in the Championship next season.
