The Spurs striker has been on a remarkable journey which has shown no signs of slowing down.

EA Sports – creators of the FIFA videogame franchise – have launched an online poll to determine who features alongside Lionel Messi in their various regional releases.

For the United Kingdom release, voters can choose between four Premier League stars: Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero, Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson and Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

The Spurs man, believed to be leading the chase as it stands, has seen his prospects soar after an endorsement by One Direction member Louis Tomlinson.

The singer took to Twitter to urge his 19.7 million followers to get voting for Kane:

It caps what has been a truly remarkable twelve months for the North London native. Kane had enjoyed successful loan spells at Millwall and Leyton Orient early in his career but he struggled in his following two spells away from White Hart Lane. Managing just two goals in his time at Norwich and Leicester, there were fears over whether he would ever make the grade at Tottenham.

The back end of the 2013-14 season was where things began to change for Kane. Granted his Premier League debut by Tim Sherwood, Kane went on to score in consecutive games and excitement started to build surrounding his potential.

Last season saw the Kane story go stratospheric. Forcing his way into Mauricio Pochettino’s first team through his Europa League performances, he quickly became Spurs’ star man and England’s most exciting young player in the process.

Becoming the first Tottenham player to score 30 goals in a season since Gary Lineker nearly 24 years previous, Kane’s ascension has truly been the stuff of dreams. Pride of place alongside the great Messi, on the cover of one of the most popular games on the planet, would just about top it all off.
