Liverpool's end of the season hammering at the Britannia is fresh in the memory, and the Reds will not be allowed to forget it any time soon.
The fixture list has conspired to send Liverpool back to Stoke City for their first game of the 2015/16 season.
Stoke shocked the football world by beating Liverpool 6-1, and even casting doubt on the future of Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers in the process.
Rodgers appears to have so far ridden out the storm, but another heavy defeat even close to the five goal margin they suffered last time would push him closer to the edge.
On the opposite side of the coin, Liverpool have a chance to exact revenge, and wipe the slate clean. Such was the manner of the loss, even a 1-0 win from an own goal would be seen as a huge success, and allow Brendan Rodgers the chance to put the previous result behind him.
Either way, Liverpool will get it out of their systems quickly, which is perhaps better than having to deal with a return to the Britannia mid-season, or even after a dreaded Thursday night Europa League away game.
With the last fixture evoking such strong emotions from fans, furious with the team's performance, we took a look at the reaction from supporters to the news.
