Liverpool 2015/16 fixtures - horrid away start for the Reds

Paisley Gateway

The Reds face arguably their seven most difficult away games at the start of the season.

Liverpool will return to the scene of their 6-1 demolition from the final day of the season when they travel to Stoke City on the opening day of the Premier League season.

The Reds' first home game of the season is against newly promoted Bournemouth at Anfield but the real eye-catching part of their start to the season is their first seven away games where they face all of the sides who finished above them, and a Merseyside derby.

Manager Brendan Rodgers will be keen to get off to a good start after a disappointing season last term, but there will be a part of him that will be glad to get the most difficult away games out of the way earlier on in the campaign - and he'll hope he can have a similar kind of run in the second half of the season that he enjoyed in his first two seasons at the club.

In terms of the second half of the season, Liverpool have back-to-back home games against Arsenal and Manchester United in January, then another difficult two consecutive home games when they face Everton and Manchester City at the end of February and the start of March respectively.

Chelsea also visit Anfield in March, with Tottenham the last of the 'bigger' sides to visit when they arrive at Anfield in April.

If the Reds are well positioned in the table with six games remaining, they may feel they have an opportunity of achieving their objectives given all of the big-guns have been played up until that point of the campaign.
