Developments are expected regarding Tottenham Hotspur's pursuit of Anthony Martial.
Tottenham Hotspur were linked earlier this month with the signing of Monaco striker Anthony Martial, as reported FranceFootball.
Monaco remain keen on keeping the forward who they only signed from Lyon 12 months ago, and website sports.fr report information from newspaper L'Equipe that they are making a play to do so.
The Ligue 1 side have scheduled a meeting with Martial and his representatives for next week, as they attempt to tie the forward down to an extended contract.
Martial, 19, is highly regarded and with Radamel Falcao on his way out, as well as the fact Dimitar Berbatov has been released, Monaco are unlikely to want to let him leave without a fight regardless of how much money they are offered.
It is claimed Monaco made an attempt to renew Martial's deal in May, but the player's representatives felt the offer was 'insufficient'.
With negotiations ongoing, it's possible Tottenham have been dragged into the saga with the intention of putting the pressure on Monaco, but SkySports reported days ago that the North London club had initiated talks with regard to signing the player.
As for what happens next, Spurs will have to see how next week's meeting plays out, and whether Monaco can do enough to persuade Martial to commit his long-term future to the club, or if the striker digs his heels in and pushes for a move.
