Don Hutchison’s advice to Newcastle on how to attract Charlie Austin

Queens Park Rangers star Charlie Austin is reportedly being targeted by Newcastle United, Southampton, West Ham United, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Former Sunderland midfielder Don Hutchison has taken to social networking site Twitter to suggest how Newcastle United can attract Charlie Austin.

The Queens Park Rangers forward is reportedly a major target for Newcastle in the summer transfer window.

According to a report in The Northern Echo last week, the Magpies want to finalise the deal to bring the 25-year-old from Championship outfit QPR this week.

However, a number of other Premier League clubs are reportedly looking to secure the services of the 25-year-old former Burnley star, who was arguably the best player for Rangers in the recently concluded 2014-15 campaign.

Southampton, West Ham United and Aston Villa all want Austin, according to The Mirror, while The Telegraph recently reported of Premier League champions Chelsea’s interest in the Englishman.

According to a report in The Northern Echo on Monday, Liverpool have already made contact with the former Swindon Town forward’s representatives.

With so much competition, Newcastle need to act quickly and efficiently in order to sign Austin, and former Sunderland midfielder Hutchison has some advice for them.

Austin seems to have a lot of options, and Newcastle would have to work hard to persuade him to move to St. James’ Park.

The QPR forward scored 18 goals and created 23 chances in 35 Premier League appearances in 2014-15, had a pass accuracy of 66% and a shot accuracy of 67%, and won 86 headers, 15 dribbles and 16 tackles.
