The 29-year-old Italian international moved to Southampton last summer, signing from Feyenoord and enjoying a solid debut season in England. He netted 16 goals in 44 games across all competitions, and although he struggled during the second half of the campaign, his strikes were important to the Saints securing Europa League football.
He also earned his first international recognition due to his performances in the Premier League, having now made four appearances and scored two goals for Italy.
With Southampton now set to feature in the Europa League next term, and push for an even higher finish in the Premier League, it would be a surprise to see Southampton allow Pelle to leave, but that has not stopped Bologna showing an interest in him.
Having only just won promotion back to Serie A, they want to sign Pelle to lead their strike force back in the top flight, although the report claims that Pelle is not sold on the idea, with no desire to leave St Mary’s Stadium just yet.
