Mark van Bommel believes Manchester United's first signing of the summer Memphis Depay has what it takes to succeed at Old Trafford.
The 21-year-old was unveiled by Manchester United last week after being signed from PSV Eindhoven weeks after winning the Eredivise and scoring 22 goals in the league, which is quite an achievement for a winger.
After being selected for the World Cup by Louis van Gaal last summer, Depay already had a relationship with the United manager which undoubtably helped United in luring the forward.
Paris Saint-Germain were interested, as per the Guardian, so the Manchester outlet had to react quickly or else they would be without his signature.
Former Netherlands international Mark van Bommel feels Depay will have no trouble adapting to the English game.
"He's made a good step, he is too good for the Dutch league," van Bommel told Shoot via the Guardian.
"Depay has the qualities to play well, and he has the potential. It is always an advantage when you know the manager well."
The Netherlands international has the drive and determination to certainly give it a go in the Premier League. Manchester United will always need to snap up the hottest European prospects with those of South American descent frequently opting for moves to the Spanish giants.
If United can get Angel Di Maria and Depay working on either wing, not a single full-back in England will look forward to a trip to Old Trafford.
