This weekend saw Bethesda's first E3 conference and following the unexpected launch of the Fallout 4 trailer recently the world watched in awe as the developers unveiled a full launch.
So what are the big talking points?
Firstly we now officially know that the game will be set in Boston, something most will have worked out from the original trailer.

We also found out that the protagonist will be from before the war, now this is big. We were shown a clip from the game of the protagonist heading to Vault 111 with his Wife and Child as the bombs fell. It seems from the clip that they didn't make it but we were then told that you awake 200 years later as the sole survivor of the Vault. What does that mean? We don't know but it could point to previous rumours of the protagonist being an android.
We saw that character creation has been changed to a simple but incredibly in depth point and click tool, you can also play as a man or woman. As well as an in depth creation system the game has been programmed so that NPC's will actually say the name you choose, which is a nice touch.
We then saw the new Pip-Boy which was a really show stealer, all the icons are now animated and stats react in real time. This is where things got really interesting as this was the perfect time to announce the Fallout 4 Special Edition which will come with it's very own wearable Pip-Boy. The Pip-Boy will house your smart phone and will work with a companion App, essentially acting as a working Pip-Boy. We can't wait to get our hands on this one.
We also found out that you will indeed have companions, including the Dog in the trailer that it appears you meet early on in the game.
One of the biggest announcements was the inclusion of a built in creation tool, allowing you to modify every weapon and even create your own armour combo's, complete with layering. Perhaps even bigger is the ability to create your own home, unlocking optional tasks that essentially allow you to create your own town, complete with dwellers and of course attacking Raiders.
The game looks set to be another smash hit for Bethesda and the conference has only made us more desperate to start playing and explore the wastelands around Boston, and the intriguingly vibrant city itself.
