Celtic and Wolves among those looking to return ex-Blackpool full-back Joan Oriol to Britain

HITC Sport understands that Celtic, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Wigan are among those keeping a close eye on ex-Blackpool defender Joan Oriol.

A host of clubs are looking to bring former Blackpool full-back Joan Oriol back to Britain, HITC Sport understands.

Oriol is a free agent after finishing the season with Romanian outfit Rapid Bucharest - who he joined in January after becoming one of many players to depart Bloomfield Road as the Seasiders slumped to the foot of the Championship table and towards inevitable relegation into the third tier.

Now HITC Sport has learnt from sources close to the player that the former Villarreal and Osasuna star is looking to head back to the UK, and a number clubs are ready to hold talks.

Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are one of the clubs believed to be monitoring his situation, as Ronny Deila looks to bolster his ranks early ahead of the Champions League qualifiers.

But interest in England is also strong, with the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Barnsley, Wigan Athletic and Millwall all understood to be keen on opening talks with the player.
