Alleged Tottenham target Fernando Llorente reportedly wants England move

A player linked with Tottenham Hotspur is said to favour a switch to the Premier League.

According to a report from Italian website TMW, Juventus striker Fernando Llorente is holding out for a move to the Premier League despite alleged interest from French club AS Monaco.

The Spaniard has been heavily linked with Tottenham Hotspur in recent times, with the same website reporting at the weekend that Spurs were prepared to pay between €7 and €8million for the 30-year-old.

And now it is being suggested that Llorente would prefer to listen to the offers allegedly coming from England than consider a move to Ligue 1.

Llorente did not have the best of seasons in Italy, scoring just nine goals in 45 appearances, but his career total is considerably more impressive, with 111 goals for Atletico Bilbao and 27 goals since he left his homeland for a stint at Juventus.

With that move clearly not as successful as he would have hoped, it would be no surprise if Llorente moved on this summer, and if he really is particularly interested in a move to England Tottenham could sign a player who would add quality to their front-line.

He could also teach young player Harry Kane a thing or two and it could ultimately work to Tottenham’s long-term benefit; that is if they really are interested of course, and at times like this it is hard to separate the fact from the fiction.
