Javier Diaz said: “There is interest in Marc from England and other countries in Europe. This is normal, but I cannot speak about the clubs. He is happy at Barcelona but he wants to play more games and we will look at the options. He has a €12m release clause in his contract.”
Bartra has been linked with a move to White Hart Lane, as per Sport, with a decision to be made on his future this week.
Despite being highly rated in his homeland, and a full Spanish international, first-team chances have been at a premium at Camp Nou, and a clause in his contract has potential sped up his exit.
Having signed a new contract until 2017 in January, Bartra included a clause which meant his €25 million release clause fell to just €12 million if he failed to play at least 60% of Barca’s first-team games.
He has not been included in that lower limit, meaning the lower release clause has not kicked in, and Spurs want to bring him to White Hart Lane on a budget deal.
His agent has now confirmed interest in him from England, and with the Lilywhites showing the greatest interest in the 24-year-old, it is likely they who are the club set to move for him.
Bartra will be very in demand this summer being available at just €12 million, and Tottenham are looking to get ahead of the game by already preparing a move for him.
The centre-back is a player who would vastly improve their back-line, and if they can pull off a deal for him, Spurs may just complete the best transfer business of the summer.
