Could Leeds United be closing in on another permanent summer signing?
Earlier today, Leeds United announced a five-year kit deal with sportswear company Kappa, but the club’s executive director Adam Pearson also took the time to address some speculation regarding a potential new signing.
Sol Bamba excelled at the club on loan last season and there has been much speculation that the Ivorian is set to complete a permanent move from Italian side Palermo following comments Nicola Salerno made in an interview with TMW.
Now, in comments later published by Inside Futbol, Pearson has suggested a deal for the centre-back could be close.
“Let’s hope so,” Pearson asked when questioned on the prospect of Bamba signing for Leeds. “Very soon I think we’ll see.”
That is potentially great news for Leeds and their supporters, who saw Bamba slot seamlessly in the club’s back-line following his January arrival.
A number of players have signed new deals at Elland Road in recent weeks while Lee Erwin and Charlie Horton have arrived from Motherwell and Cardiff City respectively. But a deal for Bamba would be the biggest so far and Leeds fans can only wait patiently for the news to hopefully be announced.
