Tottenham Hotspur transfer round-up: United legend urges club to forget about Kane

A round up of morning news stories related to Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester United legend Andy Cole has told the Daily Star he feels his old club should forget about signing Harry Kane.

The Old Trafford club have been linked with a big money move for Tottenham’s man of the moment.

However, Cole feels they would be better off focusing their efforts on signing another Premier League striker.

“What I'd do, I'd be cheeky and bid £60m for Sergio Aguero, just like Manchester City did with Wayne Rooney a few years ago,” he said.

However, the Financial Express has reported that Rooney himself has urged Louis van Gaal to make a move for the player.

The paper reports that United could offer an initial £40 million fee to try and get the deal done.

The problem being that Kane only signed an improved deal with Spurs last season.

The Daily Star has reported that Liverpool are in talks with Barcelona over defender Marc Bartra.

The versatile right sided defender is mentioned in the report as a target for Tottenham.

The paper states that his release clause is thought to be worth around the £9 million mark, but the price could go up with Manchester City also thought to be interested.
