Oscar Krusnell excited ahead of Sunderland move

Oscar Krusnell is set to join Premier League outfit Sunderland from AIK.

AIK defender Oscar Krusnell has been quoted as saying by The Daily Mail that he is looking forward to joining Sunderland this summer.

According to The Sunderland Echo, the Sweden Under-16 international left-back will move to the Black Cats on a two-year scholarship deal with the Under-18s.

“It's exciting,” The Daily Mail quotes the 16-year-old as saying. “I’m a little nervous, but it feels good.”

Krusnell played for AIK’s Under-21 side in the 2014-15 campaign and trained with the club’s first team, too.

Interestingly, the teenager has the same agent as 30-year-old Sunderland midfielder Sebastian Larsson, who is a Sweden international.

It seems that Krusnell is part of Sunderland’s future and a long-term prospect at left-back.

The youngster is promising and has potential, and the Sunderland fans will hope that he develops his game the way he is expected to.

One suspects that Sunderland will be signing ‘senior’ players this summer in order to have a successful 2015-16 Premier League season.

The Black Cats narrowly avoided relegation to the Championship this past campaign, and manager Dick Advocaat will be determined to make sure that the team have a less torrid time next season.
