Klavan has been linked with a summer transfer to Everton.
Klavan's agent, Maikel Stevens, said: “They inquired, but it is also a fact that he has another two-years on his Augsburg contract. One must also know that it is his dream to change to the Premier League.”
This certainly proves that Everton are willing to make an offer for him, and Kavlan’s desire to switch to the Premier League could see him force through a move.
The experienced defender moved to Augsburg in 2012, and has a contract until the summer of 2017. A 29-year-old centre-back, he is Estonia’s current captain, and has won over 100 caps for their senior international side.
This season, he made 35 appearances for Augsburg, scoring two goals and registering one assist in the Bundesliga, playing every game as they secured a fifth placed league finish - and qualification for Europa League football.
The Toffees need to oversee some serious work on their defensive unit ahead of the new season, following the poor campaign endured by the club and the departure of Sylvain Distin.
Klavan is an experienced, talented centre-back who has proven leadership qualities and a known ability to shore up defensive lines. Last season, he was one of the highest rated centre-backs in German football, playing 1.7 tackles per game, as well as completing 1.5 interceptions and 6.5 clearances.
As he is keen on a move to the Premier League, Klavan could push through a transfer to ensure Everton can sign him for a cheaper fee than Augsburg would likely want for one of their key men.
