The former Norwegian international has extended his stay at Selhurst Park for one more season.
Crystal Palace player Brede Hangeland has signed a new one-year deal at Selhurst Park, just days after being confirmed as released by the club.
The signing of the big Norwegian seemed like a good move when it was announced last summer, with the 33-year-old having spent seven years at Craven Cottage, and being considered one of the best centre backs in the league.
There were rumours this summer linking Hangeland to other clubs and to a management role in the Tippeligaen, but as it turns out the defender has signed a new deal at Palace, and will remain at the club for at least one more year.
Crystal Palace fans took to Twitter to discuss the renewing of Hangeland's time at their club:

Imagine having more composure than Hangeland— Josh (@cpfc_josh) June 15, 2015
Completely missed the news Hangeland has signed a new deal. Think it was inevitable, what with him being our second best CB.— Phil Morgan (@pnm1979) June 15, 2015
Buzzing about Hangeland, much better than Delaney too— Sam Smith (@sgpsmith_) June 15, 2015
