Tottenham Hotspur defender Vlad Chiriches is not having the best of times at White Hart Lane, with rumours persisting that he could be on his way sooner rather than later.
But whatever the future holds for the centre-back, he put domestic matters to one side this weekend to focus on Romania’s Euro 2016 qualifying match against Northern Ireland.
The match finished 0-0, with Chiriches captaining the visitors and ensuring they remained one point clear of Saturday’s opponents in Group F.
Northern Ireland could have won it but Kyle Lafferty hit a wonderful chance straight at Romania’s goalkeeper with just six minutes remaining.
Chiriches has played 23 times for Romania since making his debut in August 2011 and the Tottenham man has played every minute of his country’s Euro 2016 qualifying campaign to date.
In that time the 25-year-old has helped his side to five clean-sheets and Tottenham fans may be wondering why he cannot do the same for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
After the match we took to Twitter to see what Tottenham supporters thought of Chiriches’ latest performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:

Good to see Chiriches still plays as we've seen internationally too, two poor moments in 2 minutes— Paul Pettitt (@goatfaced) June 13, 2015
