The top five players linked with Liverpool this week including Carlos Tevez, Charlie Austin and Radamel Falcao

The latest players linked with a potential move to Liverpool include three strikers, a midfielder and a right-back.

Liverpool have already been busy this summer, agreeing deals to bring James Milner, Danny Ings and Adam Bogdan to Anfield. But it looks like that is just the start of the club’s overhaul and a number of players have been linked with Brendan Rodgers’ side in the last seven days.

Here we take a look at the top five players linked with a potential move to Liverpool this week:

Charlie Austin

According to the Sun, Liverpool are preparing a bid for Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin.

Austin scored 18 goals in the Premier League last season and considering QPR have since been relegated and his contract expires in the summer of 2016, a move to a top-flight club seems almost inevitable.

Carlos Tevez

Liverpool need a quality front-man to play alongside (or instead of) Daniel Sturridge depending on the circumstances, and the Liverpool Echo claims Carlos Tevez could be that man.

The Juventus star recently helped his side to a domestic double and the final of the Champions League, so it remains to be seen if he will swap that for a return to England.

Martin Montoya

Barcelona right-back Martin Montoya is a regular in the gossip columns and the 24-year-old has again been linked with a possible Anfield switch.

The Liverpool Echo reports that the player could move on for a fee in the region of £7million, which would be quite a coup for a defender of his quality.

Mateo Kovacic

According to a report from Italian website TMW, Liverpool are closing in on a move for Inter Milan midfielder Mateo Kovacic.

The 21-year-old has already played 97 games for the Serie A club and he is very highly-rated both in Italy and in his homeland Croatia.

The latest report claims Liverpool and Inter have agreed an initial €22.6million deal with an additional €2million in add-ons.

Radamel Falcao

Radamel Falcao may not have enjoyed the best of times at Manchester United last season but the Colombian international is still a ready-made goal-scorer – provided of course he can rediscover his best form.

The London Evening Standard have linked Liverpool with a move for the AS Monaco man, provided the player takes a significant pay-cut.
