Report: West Ham target Argentine winger Diego Perotti, Bilic is 'long-term admirer'

Genoa v Catania at the Marassi

West Ham are reportedly targeting Genoa winger Diego Perotti.

According to The Sun, West Ham United are considering a move to sign Argentine winger Diego Perotti - because new manager Slaven Bilic is believed to be a big fan of his.

Bilic, 46, arrived as West Ham manager earlier this week but will now be looking to immediately make signings ahead of the Europa League preliminary rounds, having already landed Sampdoria midfielder Pedro Obiang.

It seems that the Hammers are trying to go shopping in Italy once again, with Genoa winger Perotti allegedly on their wish list this summer.

The former Boca Juniors star left Sevilla last summer in order to join Genoa, and hit four goals in a decent season for the 26-year-old, given his injury problems in recent years.

Having rebuilt his career, interest is seemingly building in the former Argentina international, and West Ham are among his admirers, according to The Sun.

That's reportedly because new manager Bilic is a big fan of Perotti's, and has earmarked him as a potential target for the Hammers given their lack of quality out wide.

The report adds that Perotti is valued at around £5m by Genoa, who will be reluctant to let him leave after a strong debut season for the Italian club.
