Report: West Ham and Liverpool join Southampton in race for Juanmi

The Malaga striker had a great 2014-15 season.

Malaga striker Juanmi is fast becoming one of Europe's hottest properties this summer.

The 22-year-old was linked with a move to Southampton earlier in the week. Diario Sur reported that The Saints were keen on a deal for the player and were willing to pay up to €7 million to get hold of him.

They have now been joined by West Ham United and Liverpool in the race for the player, according to Tutto Mercato Web.

They claim that both West Ham and Liverpool are also willing to meet his €7 million buyout clause, as Malaga look to make some much needed funds.

Liverpool's interest appears odd. They have just signed Danny Ings so another striker coming through the door at Anfield seems like overkill.

West Ham on the other hand could do with freshening up in the attacking department and Juanmi would certainly do that.

The Malaga striker has had a breakthrough season in La Liga. He played 32 times, scoring 8 goals and that form saw him win his first international cap for Spain in the recent friendly against The Netherlands in Amsterdam.
