Report: Everton interested in signing Lukas Podolski from Arsenal

Everton are reportedly targeting Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski in the summer transfer window.

Everton are interested in signing Lukas Podolski from Arsenal this summer, according to The Daily Star.

It has been reported by the British newspaper that Toffees manager Roberto Martinez is “on alert” after learning that Podolski will leave the Gunners in the summer transfer window.

Martinez is willing to recruit the 30-year-old but only if the price is right, according to the report in The Daily Star.

Podolski has been on the books of Arsenal since 2012, but it seems that his time at the Emirates Stadium has come to an end.

The 2014 World Cup winner struggled for playing time in the first half of the recently concluded 2014-15 season and was sent out on loan to Italian club Inter Milan in the January transfer window.

The former Bayern Munich forward could make just seven appearances in the Premier League for the Gunners, but he played in 17 Serie A matches for Inter in 2014-15.

Podolski is unlikely to get much playing time at Arsenal next season, and it makes sense for him to look for a new club.

The former Koln star has done well in the Premier League when he has played on a regular basis, and he could prove to be a good signing for Everton.
