West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino has suggested to The Express & Star that he does not plan to leave this summer.
According to The Mirror, Newcastle United, Everton and Southampton are all interested in the services of the 21-year-old striker.
“Of course I block it (the speculation) out,” Berahino told The Express & Star. “It’s all part of being a player.
Berahino is a very good and promising young player, and reported interest in him from some of the biggest clubs in England should not come as a surprise to anyone.
Although the England Under-21 international had a rather inconsistent season in 2014-15, he was still one of the best young English players in the Premier League.
In 38 league matches, Berahino scored 14 goals and created 28 chances, and had a pass accuracy of 83% and a shot accuracy of 54%.
While West Brom fans should be pleased with Berahino’s comments that he is “happy” at The Hawthorns, things could change over the coming weeks.
If the Baggies do eventually have to sell Berahino this summer, then they must make sure that they get as much as they can as transfer fee and sign a suitable replacement.
