The Manchester United legend did the business once again for his beloved club.
It may have been a football match but football itself was very much second on the agenda at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon. Indeed, the money raised for charity by Manchester United's legends match against Bayern Munich took priority.
And yet... Paul Scholes still ended up stealing the show!
The Manchester United legend, along with the likes of Jaap Stam and Andy Cole, impressed in front of thousands of fans and reminded supporters of a time when their players could conquer all. After all, Munich's legends were no slouches themselves. But such was Scholes' display that many United fans on Twitter called for the 40-year-old to return to the first team - again.
Manchester United won 4-2 in the end, thanks to goals from Louis Saha, Dwight Yorke and Cole, with Jesper Blomqvist adding a fourth. Naturally, though, midfield maestro Scholes was the main attraction for many.
