Lineker reacts on Twitter to Jack Wilshere's performance, disagrees with England boss

The former Tottenham Hotspur hero took to social media to discuss the Arsenal midfielder.

Gary Lineker might be the only man affiliated with Tottenham right now that's impressed by Arsenal's Jack Wilshere.

But impressed he was on Sunday afternoon as the midfielder netted an impressive double for England against Slovenia.

The Three Lions had trailed 1-0 before Wilshere struck twice to give England the lead. Slovenia hit back but Wayne Rooney settled the matter late on despite having earlier missed a string of chances.

And former Tottenham and England striker Lineker was impressed with the Arsenal man on Twitter. He did, however, disagree with Roy Hodgson over his best position...

It has been a constant source of debate of late: Wilshere's best position. England boss Hodgson clearly feels the Arsenal midfielder will give his country his best in holding midfield - or at least that he is the best available player in that role.

Ex-Spurs man Lineker, however, thinks the 23-year-old will offer the Three Lions more from a more advanced position.

Against Slovenia, the Arsenal midfielder was able to play both the holding role and score two cracking goals. But Slovenia isn't exactly the kind of opposition you'll have to beat to win a major tournament...
