The Three Lions had trailed 1-0 before Wilshere struck twice to give England the lead. Slovenia hit back but Wayne Rooney settled the matter late on despite having earlier missed a string of chances.

It has been a constant source of debate of late: Wilshere's best position. England boss Hodgson clearly feels the Arsenal midfielder will give his country his best in holding midfield - or at least that he is the best available player in that role.
Ex-Spurs man Lineker, however, thinks the 23-year-old will offer the Three Lions more from a more advanced position.
Against Slovenia, the Arsenal midfielder was able to play both the holding role and score two cracking goals. But Slovenia isn't exactly the kind of opposition you'll have to beat to win a major tournament...
