Another exciting Tottenham Hotspur prospect has been speaking about the prospect of first-team football down the line.
Tottenham Hotspur’s young winger Nathan Oduwa has been speaking to Shoot about the prospect of challenging for first-team football and taking inspiration from the young players currently impressing at White Hart Lane.
The 19-year-old has made 17 appearances for Tottenham’s under-21 side, scoring four goals and providing four assists to date. But after a loan spell at Luton Town last season, during which he featured 11 times, he is now hoping to follow the likes of Harry Kane and Nabil Bentaleb into the Spurs first-team.
Speaking about that duo along with Ryan Mason and Danny Rose, Oduwa said, “They’ve been a massive inspiration to me.
“I’ve actually played with most of them and they’ve been on another level, in terms of ability and professionalism, when they have played with us. Some of the guys have also been out on a few loans before making the first-team which is the same route I may have to take.”
Oduwa clearly has his head screwed on, and he will know that he has a long way to go before convincing Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino that he deserves a regular senior spot.
But if he continues on his current trajectory there is no reason why he cannot ultimately follow in the footsteps of the players he has recently been inspired by.
