Report: Everton eye Ahmed Elmohamady as Aaron Lennon alternative

Everton are reportedly looking at Hull City’s Ahmed Elmohamady as an alternative to Tottenham Hotspur’s Aaron Lennon.

Everton are interested in signing Ahmed Elmohamady from Hull City this summer, according to The Mirror.

It has been reported by the British newspaper that the Merseyside outfit are looking at the Hull winger as an alternative to Tottenham Hotspur’s Aaron Lennon.

Toffees manager Roberto Martinez reportedly fears that he will miss out on Lennon, who played on loan for his team during the second half of the recently concluded 2014-15 campaign.

Elmohamady had a decent season on a personal level for Hull, but he failed to prevent the Tigers from suffering relegation to the Championship.

It seems that Everton are looking to take advantage of the Tigers’ relegation and give the Egypt international a chance to carry on playing in the Premier League.

The former Sunderland star scored two goals and created 64 chances in 38 Premier League appearances in 2014-15.

Elmohamady had a pass accuracy of 74% and a shot accuracy of 31%, and he won 123 headers, 32 dribbles and 56 tackles.
