The Croatian is wanted at Falcao's parent club AS Monaco.
There has been plenty of speculation recently regarding the future of Radamel Falcao. The striker, considered a flop at Manchester United last season, is set to head out from AS Monaco on loan once again next term. Chelsea are keen on the player as a possible replacement for the departing Didier Drogba.
The Colombian, who recently scored on international duty with Colombia, might also help struggling winter signing Juan Cuadrado come out of his shell.
Now details of an apparently likely transfer are emerging. Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has reported via his official website that a deal to see Falcao arrive on a one year deal is in the pipeline, but a player will have to go to the principality in return.
That player will apparently be Mario Pasalic.
The Croatian joined Chelsea from Hajduk Split last summer and spent last season on loan at Spanish side Elche. After initial struggles the 20-year-old found some form toward the end of the season.
Compared to Michael Ballack in playing style, it is reported that Monaco want Pasalic on loan with an option to sign him for €15 million at the conclusion of his loan deal next summer.
So it remains to be seen whether Chelsea value the talent of Pasalic more or less than the goals Jose Mourinho hopes Falcao could bring to Stamford Bridge.
