The Republic of Ireland welcome Scotland to the Aviva Stadium this afternoon for a vital Euro 2016 qualifying match.

The two sides are currently separated by one place and two points in Group D, with Scotland on 10 points and Ireland just below them on eight.

Both sides have work to do if they want to ultimately qualify from the group, with Germany and Poland ahead of them but only just.

Everything could change with a victory for either Gordon Strachan or Martin O’Neill’s men this afternoon, with only three points currently separating the top four, who have pulled well clear of Georgia and Gibraltar in the bottom two places.

Ireland in particular will know that a win is a must if they want to maintain realistic hopes of qualifying for next summer’s competition, and the home crowd will be hoping to roar them on to that very feat later today.

Those on show include Celtic's Scott Brown and Charlie Mulgrew, Sunderland's John O'Shea and Everton trio Seamus Coleman, Steven Naismith and James McCarthy among others.
