The top five players linked with signing for West Ham this week

West Ham Upton Park

West Ham United have been linked with some top quality players in Slaven Bilic's first week at the club.

West Ham United have already completed a signing under Slaven Bilic with the arrival of Pedro Obiang from Sampdoria.

Bilic looks as though he’s going to be backed over several deals he wants to go after this summer, as he looks to transform the shape of the West Ham squad.

He definitely needs to improve the numbers because should the club qualify for the group stages of the Europa League, the matches are going to come thick and fast next season.

Here are five of the best players linked with moving to West Ham over the past week.

Alex Song (Barcelona)

Goal.com has reported that West Ham haven’t given up on retaining midfielder Alex Song for next season. He played on loan for the club and made a decent impression and would be a good player to have in the squad.

Carl Jenkinson (Arsenal)

The right-back spent time on loan with the Hammers last season and the Daily Mail suggests they want to retain him. However, the paper suggests that a fee in the region of £2 million is required, just for another loan.

Loic Remy (Chelsea)

The Daily Mirror has reported that West Ham are still very much interested in doing a deal for Loic Remy, to come in and bolster their attack. He’s got Premier League experience but the paper suggests that Crystal Palace are also ready to move with a £10 million offer.

Dimitri Payet (Marseille)

The Daily Mail has reported that the Hammers are looking at Payet as a potential midfield addition. However, it won’t be an easy deal for the Hammers to do because the paper suggests he’s open to talks with several clubs in London.

Olcay Sahan (Besiktas)

TalkSPORT has suggested that Slaven Bilic is looking for a reunion with a player who served him well during his time in Turkey. Sahan would inject pace and trickery out wide and could allow Stewart Downing to focus on a central position.
