Report: West Brom join race for French international Rod Fanni, also a target for Crystal Palace and Liverpool

The 33-year-old defender is out of contract this summer.

It has been reported this week that both Liverpool and Crystal Palace are keen on signing Marseille veteran Rod Fanni.

The 33-year-old, who has five caps for France, is out of contract this summer and despite Marseille's desire to keep him he could be on his way out of the club.

But Palace and Liverpool, who were linked by The Guardian earlier this week, are not alone in their pursuit of the player.

West Bromwich Albion are among eight other clubs who want the player, according to Foot Marseille.

West Brom are said to have registered their interest along with Galatasaray, three MLS clubs as well an unnamed outfits in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

The Baggies are desperate for reinforcements at full-back and the experienced Fanni is right up Tony Pulis' street.

Marseille are to offer him a new deal for next season, as despite his age, he remains a top player. The veteran played 28 times this season finding his best form toward the end of the campaign.
