Southampton have been linked with making a move for both Krychowiak and Clasie.
The Saints are preparing to strengthen their ranks this summer ahead of a campaign of Europa League football, and various reports have linked them with two separate midfielders.
It is expected that Morgan Schneiderlin will leave the club, and targeting a ball-playing midfielder looks of vital importance as his replacement. The Daily Star has long linked the Saints with making a move for Dutch international - and Ronald Koeman favourite - Jordy Clasie, who would be a wise buy with his undoubted potential and experience.
The talented Polish international would be a great signing, with a wealth of Europa League experience to his name, and a new report in SoccerNews makes it appear as if the Saints are targeting Krychowiak over Clasie.
The Dutch media outlet claims that Koeman will only plot a move for Clasie if they cannot agree a deal with Sevilla for their star midfielder. The Saints have already had a €12 million bid rejected for him, and there are no indications as to how high they would have to go to be able to prise him away.
Considering his importance to Sevilla, and their unwillingness to sell Krychowiak, it is likely that Southampton will return their attentions back to Clasie in the near future, with him being a much easier transfer target to secure.
