Real Sociedad are interested in signing Carles Gil from Aston Villa this summer, according to talkSPORT.
Gil joined Premier League outfit Villa from Valencia in the January transfer window and has a contract until June 2019.
The attacking midfielder arrived at Villa Park amid much hype and expectations, but he struggled to make a huge impact in the second half of the recently concluded 2014-15 season.
The Spain Under-21 international could make just five appearances in the Premier League, failing to score a single goal and creating only six chances in the process.
Gil had a pass accuracy of 91%, and won 18 dribbles and two tackles in those five league matches.
It has now been reported by talkSPORT that La Liga duo Sociedad and Villarreal are interested in signing the 22-year-old.
TalkSPORT claim that Celta de Vigo have made a bid of £3 million for the youngster, with Sociedad manager David Moyes also registering “his interest in taking the starlet back to La Liga”.
Former Manchester United and Everton manager Moyes seems to have been impressed with the performances of Gil in Spain, and it makes sense for him to move for a player who has already done well in La Liga.
It remains to be seen if Villa will allow Gil to leave in the summer transfer window, having signed him just a few months ago. Perhaps at the right price, the Villans would.
