Kieran Trippier has been linked with a move to Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur.

Trippier impressed in the Premier League during the 2014/15 campaign, despite Burnley’s relegation, and he has been linked with a move to Aston Villa, as per the Daily Mail, and Tottenham, by the Mirror.

Following the Clarets’ drop to the Championship, it is expected that Trippier will now leave the club, and he would make a great signing for many clubs in the Premier League - especially the two that have already been linked with him.

However, Burnley themselves will be weakened, and the search for a new right-back has led them to scout one of the teams who may buy Trippier - Aston Villa.

As per the Mail, Sean Dyche’s men have been linked with a move for Matthew Lowton, with the 26-year-old expected to leave Villa Park this summer after three years.

Burnley are keen on agreeing a part-exchange deal with Villa for Trippier, sending Lowton the other way, but the current Burnley player is said to favour a move to Tottenham.

Lowton arrived at Villa Park in 2011 from Sheffield United, and has since gone on to make 82 appearances for the club. However, he has failed to establish himself since Tim Sherwood’s appointment at head coach, and the former Spurs boss wants to replace him at right-back.
