The top five players linked with signing for Tottenham Hotspur this week

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with several top quality players this week.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino will be on the constant look out for new players, who can come into his squad and improve his team looking ahead to next season.

Spurs weren’t too far off the pace in the Premier League last season, as they look to break into the top four.

The Holy Grail next season will be qualification into the Champions League and it’s vital they bring in the sort of players who can complement the options they already have.

We’ve taken a look at five of the best players linked with moves to White Hart Lane from the past week.

Christian Benteke (Aston Villa)

Benteke would be a superb option for Tottenham in attack. They would likely have to pay a heavy premium in order to sign him, but the Daily Mirror has reported they are an option alongside some of their main Premier League rivals.

Edin Dzeko (Manchester City)

London24 has suggested that if Tottenham are willing to part with £20 million, the Manchester City attacker could be theirs. However, if a bidding war develops between interested parties, Spurs may struggle to compete with Daniel Levy always looking for a sensible business deal.

Toby Alderweireld (Atletico Madrid)

The Belgian has been mentioned as a target for the club by the London Evening Standard. Alderweireld would be a good addition to Tottenham’s backline although Spurs have already added Kevin Wimmer to their defensive ranks.

Anthony Martial (AS Monaco)

Sky Sports has reported that Tottenham have already opened talks with the talented Ligue One teenager. He’s got bags of potential and is a good option, as Spurs need to take some of the pressure away from Harry Kane.

Kieran Trippier (Burnley)

The Daily Mirror has reported that Tottenham are keen on signing the right-back from the freshly relegated side. The confusing one here for fans is the fact that Spurs already have two good right-back options in Kyle Walker and DeAndre Yedlin.
