Former Leeds United loanee Adryan signs extension with Flamengo, but is heading to Nantes, says agent

The Brazilian is set to play in French football next season.

When Leeds United snapped up Brazilian talent Adryan from Flamengo on a season long loan deal in August 2014 fans were rightly excited.

The Brazilian was once considered a wonderkid and had previously been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona.

However his career had stalled since a similar switch to Cagliari and his time at Leeds was not a success. He played just 13 times for Leeds and scored no goals. His last appearance for the club came against Watford in February and he will be remembered mostly for 'that dive' against Derby County in November.

Now he is set to return to European football on another season long loan deal, with French club Nantes the expected recipients.

One of his representatives, Reinaldo Pitta, has informed Globo Esporte that Adryan has agreed a one year extension to his contract with Flamengo and immediately joined Nantes on loan until the end of the Ligue 1 season.

It seems there is no desire on the Brazilian club's part to make the deal permanent at any point.

Adryan will hope to be more of a hit in Ligue 1 than he was in The Championship with Leeds United.
