Benteke has been linked with a number of top Premier League clubs, with the Daily Telegraph reporting that any sides looking at him, will have to pay over £30 million to have any chance of securing him on a long term deal.
However, Bacuna appears hopeful that Aston Villa will be able to keep him and he holds no doubt over how important the Belgian is for Tim Sherwood’s side.
“I think he’s got everything a striker needs. He’s big, he’s strong, he can finish – he’s just a good, good striker. He can do whatever you want. On his day he can be one of the best,” he said.
On his day, Benteke is simply unplayable. He’s got the strength, he’s got the intelligence and he’s got the initial burst of pace to get the better of even the most experienced defenders.
What Villa are constantly battling against with the Belgian is his desire and hunger to play European football whether that comes in the form of the Europa League or the Champions League.
If he shows loyalty towards Sherwood, then he’s gambling on Villa having a brilliant season and getting into a position where that’s possible at Villa Park.
However, considering the struggles the side had last season, that seems extremely doubtful and he could play in Europe by taking a high profile move this summer.
Villa are better off with him than without him, but there are going to be a few sides throwing offers at the club when the transfer window opens next month.
