Manchester United are closing in on the signature of sensational Brazilian attacker Roberto Firmino.
Firmino is currently on international duty with Brazil and scored the winner in their Copa America warm-up against Honduras earlier today.
The reports were instigated by ESPN Brasil journalist Jose Elias, via Twitter.
Empresários confirmam que Firmino vai fazer exames médicos na seleção para assinar com o Manchester united...— José Elias (@zeelias05) June 9, 2015
Believe it when it happens?
Manchester United fans have learned over the years not to get ahead of themselves in the transfer market; the names Lucas Moura, Thiago Alcantara and Wesley Sneijder will all bring back memories of false hope.
Firmino could be another, but United moving for him now would make a lot of sense, before his price tag soars if he excels at the Copa America.
The 23-year-old is under contract to Hoffenheim until 2017, and scored 10 goals and provided 12 assists last season for the club.
