Bloomberg News reports that Wilcox will start in September and report to Dominic Lester, joint head of European investment banking, said the person, who asked not to be identified because the move hasn’t been announced.
Wilcox was once head of U.K. equity capital markets for JPMorgan and worked at the New York-based bank for more than 20 years, the person said.
In the meantime, Bloomberg also reports that Societe Generale’s head of emerging markets trading in New York, Rabinder Sira, quit as the firm scales back its Latin American desk, said three people with knowledge of the matter.
Dan Bowers, a director on the emerging markets sales team in New York, also left, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing personnel. The bank is shrinking its U.S. emerging-market trading operations to focus on Asia, central Europe, the Middle East and Africa, they said.
