Talking to the morgenpost, Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has admitted that he is still none the wiser as to where his future will lie next season.
The 30-year-old has recently returned to North London following an unsuccessful loan spell at Inter Milan and admits that his next move has to be the right one due to it being his ‘last big contract’.
‘’It’s important for me to make an important decision,’’ Podolski said after the game against the US. ‘’I can perhaps stay in London, to give it my all again and play in attack. I’m not going to be there and sit quietly on the bench.
‘’If it is a new club, I have to make the right decision because it is perhaps the last big contract for me.’’
One reason why Podolski should stay at Arsenal
After a poor season for the German, both in England and in Italy, he needs to show that he still has the ability to play at the highest level in order to become a useful player for world champions Germany next summer.
If he does decide to move, the pressure could be even greater as anything other than a roaring success is likely to leave question marks hanging over his head.
One reason why Podolski should leave Arsenal
If Arsenal do go ahead and sign another attacking player, or two, then that could definitely spell the end of Podolski’s Arsenal career.
Although he could stay and fight for his place, it’s going to be immensely difficult for him if he is further down the pecking order than he was six months ago.
As he said in his interview, the move would have to be right for him as it is likely to leave him more exposed to public critique than ever before.
