HITC Sport understands that promising Manchester City striker Joe Nuttall is set to join Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen.

HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Aberdeen are poised to snap up Manchester City starlet Joe Nuttall.

The 18-year-old striker has been a prominent part of the academy set-up at City for a number of years, but is now in need of a fresh start.

He has endured his fair share of injury struggles in recent times – sitting out the entire 2013/14 campaign with a spinal fracture.

Nuttall has impressed at youth level for City, though, having made his debut for their U18 side will still only 15 years of age.

He signed his first scholarship deal with the two-time Premier League champions in 2013 and has shown that he is capable of holding his own in a competitive environment.

A powerful frontman who is good in the air and a composed finisher, Nuttall will be hoping to hit the ground running in Scotland.

Aberdeen finished as runners-up to Celtic in the 2014/15 Scottish Premiership, so are busy readying themselves for a new campaign that will see domestic duties complemented by a Europa League adventure.
